Somerby Golf Club & Community

RSA Construction Group was the prime contractor on this 450-acre housing community and 18-hole private golf course. The 750-homesite infrastructure consisted of four miles of new streets, including all underground utilities. The work performed on the 7,250-yard golf course, designed by golf course architect John Fought and British Open Champion Tom Lehman, included continuous colored concrete cart paths, a state-of-the-art 2200-head Toro Hardline Herringbone irrigation system and over 100 bunkers with Trophy Lake blend white sand shipped in from Emmett, Idaho.

Three streams run through the site that required extensive erosion control and stream protection measures. From those streams the course layout included 12 water crossings, and 200 acres of seeded Bentgrass for fairways, tee boxes and greens, and Bluegrass and Midnight Blue Fescue for the roughs. Extensive tree and shrub landscaping was incorporated throughout the property.

The work scope for this commercial project included massive earthwork, grading, foundations and piping.
